EMI is an international mission development organisation made up of architects, engineers, surveyors, construction managers and other built environment professionals who use their skills to serve the poor and least reached worldwide.

Function

The EMI Nicaragua office is currently seeking a Staff Architect to join our team in Managua who will be involved with architectural design, project leading and mentoring of young national and international architects.  Our architectural staff are often challenged with finding balance between modern design approaches and traditional urban and rural approaches.

Description of Assignment

The following are essential responsibilities for this position:

• Spiritual and professional discipleship through EMI’s programs and opportunities.
• Directly manage the development of architectural designs and preliminary construction details.
• Ensure architectural design work is completed on time and adheres to the established specifications and standards.
• Prepare sketches and production drawings.
• Communicate designs and cost estimates to those involved in the project, including clients, engineers, quantity surveyors, landscape architects, interior design, urban and regional planners.
• Travel domestically or internationally 2-3 times a year for 3-14 days at a time for project work.
